Valley View assistant principal named new Lincoln ES principal

Head and shoulder photo of Robert IsraelsonPlainfield – Wood View Elementary School Assistant Principal Robert Israelson will be the next principal at Lincoln Elementary School effective July 1, 2023.

The District 202 Board of Education approved Israelson’s hire at its March 20, 2023 regular meeting.

Wood View Elementary School is in the neighboring Valley View School District 365.

“Robert’s knowledge and collaborative nature will support the existing positive culture at Lincoln Elementary, said Dr. Scott Fink, District 202 Director for Elementary School Administration and Personnel.

Israelson has spent his entire career in the Valley View district.

He began his education career in 2003 as a paraprofessional.

Israelson also coached wrestling and volleyball for 14 years at Valley View while going to school to get his degree in education.

 In 2012, Israelson became a sixth- and seventh-grade teacher at A Vito Martinez Middle School and John Lukancic Middle School in the Valley View district.

He worked as a district-level Learning Environment Coordinator at Valley View in 2018 before taking his current role in 2019.

Israelson chose District 202 for a variety of reasons, he said including the community’s support for the district and its belief that all students will be successful in District 202.

“I am incredibly excited to be joining such an amazing district,” Israelson said. “I am truly grateful to be a part of such a wonderful staff and excited about the opportunity to continue to foster an environment that encourages life-long learning in every child that walks through our doors.”

Israelson will replace Casey Hartman who was named the Director for Elementary Curriculum and Instruction. Hartman is replacing Dr. Tammy Sroczynski who is retiring.
