Superintendent Dr. Glenn Wood threw out the first pitch at the Chicago White Sox game on Friday, June 28. And the Sox beat the Colorado Rockies 5-3. Coincidence? #202proud https://youtu.be/4-SvywwUdEY?si=O_lsytSxqS7GfrGw&t=1

Fifth graders recently learned about the life of a Civil War soldier using the American Battlefield Trust Civil War Traveling Trunk. The Traveling Trunk is a program where students get to unbox a trunk packed full of hands-on Civil War items. The trunk contains clothing, tools, images, documents, and other items that bring history to life.

We are mourning the loss of Tom Hernandez longtime Director of Community Relations who passed away April 15, 2024. Superintendent of Schools Dr. Glenn Wood said Hernandez was a thoughtful, caring person representing District 202 proudly and professionally. “Tom Hernandez was a true champion for District 202 and was well known for his professionalism, positive attitude, and big heart. He was known as “The Voice” of 202 because he made the school cancellation phone calls and often served as emcee for district and other events. Hernandez’s legacy is one of compassion and community. He will be deeply missed.” Obituary/services: https://fredcdames.com/tribute/details/8791/Thomas-Hernandez/obituary.html#tribute-start
