Jessica Rotstein stands with her student

Lincoln Elementary School second-grade teacher Jessica Rotstein has been recognized as 93.9 Lite FM’s “Teacher of the Week.”

Rotstein, who has taught at Lincoln for four years, was nominated by Shannon Lunardini, whose daughter Avery is in Rotstein’s class.

In her nomination, Lunardini praised Rotstein’s creativity, warmth, and ability to make every child feel valued.

“I am nominating my daughter Avery’s second-grade teacher for this recognition because of the incredible impact she has had on her students,” Lunardini wrote.

“She has gone above and beyond to make my daughter feel comfortable, supported, and confident at school. Her classroom is a place where every child feels seen and valued, thanks to her warm, welcoming approach.”

“We are proud to see her honored for the outstanding work she does every day,” Lincoln principal Dr. Deb Coberley said. Rotstein stands with her class in her classroom

Rotstein said she was surprised and humbled by the news.

“I thought it was a scam at first,” she said. “But once I realized it was real, I was shocked and extremely grateful. It means so much to know that what I’m doing is having a positive impact on my students and their families.”

Rotstein, who also completed her student teaching at Lincoln, said her favorite part of teaching is the joy of seeing students grow in confidence and ability. “Those little moments when their faces light up because they ‘get it’ are ones that stick with me forever,” she said.

The recognition will air Friday morning on 93.9 Lite FM.
