Second grader Graham Riva served as “Principal for the Day” at Lincoln Elementary School on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Graham earned the opportunity by winning a persuasive essay contest in his class titled, “Why I Think I Would Make a Great Principal.”
During his day, Graham shadowed Dr. Deb Coberley, helped ensure the building was secure, greeted staff and students, discussed playground safety, and reviewed classroom needs, including how they align with the school budget.
Graham is truly a future leader in the making!

Lunar New Year is a special holiday celebrated in many Asian countries to welcome the start of a new year on the lunar calendar. Ms. Rotstein's 2nd grade class had a student's parents share traditional Chinese customs, decorations, and stories about how families celebrate this joyful time. They learned about red decorations, which are believed to bring good luck and happiness. After the presentation, students rotated through four fun stations: practicing calligraphy, making colorful paper lanterns, creating wax seals, and playing the traditional game Touhu. It was an exciting day filled with learning, creativity, and new cultural experiences.

Enjoy your holiday! See you Tuesday!

Our place Spaghetti Western and the musical Finding Nemo were both a huge success this weekend. Amazing performances, great music, and so much talent on display. So proud of our students, directors, and everyone who made it such a memorable weekend.

Plainfield North High School juniors Mowosimi Kolawole and Avik Nanga visited Kaitlyn Cannon’s fifth-grade classroom at Lincoln Elementary School in January to lead a short lesson on developing an entrepreneurial mindset.
The visit was part of a student-designed project created through the school’s Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA), a business-focused organization.
During the lesson, students participated in a hands-on activity centered on saving and spending money, helping them build practical financial literacy skills they can apply in the future.

Our 5th grade students have been hard at work learning about volume. After studying the formula for volume, students applied their knowledge by designing and building animals made entirely from rectangular prisms.

Where is Chippie? Mrs. Phelps will never know!

Lincoln students celebrated Grit Days by working together to solve winter-themed puzzles that became more challenging as they went. Through teamwork, perseverance, and problem-solving, students showed what it means to stick with a task even when it gets tough!
We loved seeing students encourage one another, try new strategies, and celebrate their successes along the way. Way to go, Lincoln—your grit was on full display!

A huge thank you to Miles of Smiles for providing free dental services to our students today. We are so grateful for their partnership and the care they brought to our school. Over 20 families took advantage of this free service. Thank you for making such a positive difference for our students.
